The Story Behind Papelon con Limon
Papelon con limon is Venezuela's most democratic drink, consumed across all social classes since the colonial era when sugarcane plantations made panela universally available. The combination of unrefined sugar with Caribbean limes created a drink that is simultaneously simple and complex. It remains the default refreshment at every Venezuelan gathering.
