Crispy Fried Breadfruit

Thin slices of breadfruit fried until golden and crispy. A crunchy island snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 firm breadfruit, peeled
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
  • Paper towels
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel breadfruit, remove core, slice thinly.
  2. 2 Heat oil to 180C.
  3. 3 Fry slices in batches until golden and crispy.
  4. 4 Drain on paper towels.
  5. 5 Sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, and chili.
  6. 6 Serve with lime juice squeezed over.
