Instructions

    Mix flour, yeast, sugar, nutmeg, and salt. Add warm water and mix to a smooth, sticky batter.

    Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.

    Heat oil to 170C. Scoop batter with wet hands or a spoon and drop into hot oil.

    Fry until golden brown all over, turning once, about 4-5 minutes.

    Drain on paper towels. Optionally roll in sugar while warm.
