A crunchy, tangy, spicy snack of puffed rice tossed with mustard oil, chopped onion, chillies, peanuts, chanachur, and a squeeze of lime.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups puffed rice (muri)
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
  • 2 tbsp chanachur
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Juice of 1 lime

Instructions

  1. 1 Place puffed rice in a large bowl.
  2. 2 Add mustard oil and toss to coat evenly.
  3. 3 Add onion, green chillies, peanuts, chanachur, and coriander.
  4. 4 Sprinkle with chaat masala and salt.
  5. 5 Squeeze lime juice over the top and toss vigorously.
  6. 6 Serve immediately in paper cones — jhal muri goes soggy fast.
