  • 0.5 cup millet, rinsed
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp butter

  2. 2 Add millet and milk to the pot with the pumpkin.
  3. 3 Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes until millet is tender and porridge is creamy.

  5. 5 Serve warm, topped with extra honey or butter if desired.

Did You Know?

In Ukrainian folklore, if a father offered a suitor harbuzova kasha (pumpkin porridge), it meant the marriage proposal was rejected — 'getting a pumpkin' became slang for rejection.
