Zanzibar Stuffed Crepe

A thin dough parcel filled with minced beef, onions, peppers, and egg, folded and fried on a hot griddle until crispy, served with tangy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 200g ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Chili sauce
  • Mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. 1 Make a soft dough from flour, water, and a pinch of salt, knead briefly, and rest for ten minutes.
  2. 2 Brown ground beef with onion, pepper, salt, and pepper until cooked through.
  3. 3 Stretch a ball of dough paper-thin on an oiled griddle over medium heat.
  4. 4 Spread meat filling over the dough, crack an egg on top, and fold edges inward to form a square.
  5. 5 Fry until the bottom is golden and crispy, then flip and cook the other side.
  6. 6 Cut into quarters and serve with chili sauce and mayonnaise drizzle.
