A hearty, creamy soup made from green bananas simmered with beef bones, onions, and spices until thick and warming.

Ingredients

  • 4 green bananas, peeled
  • 500g beef bones
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 liter water
  • Salt and pepper
  • Lime juice

Instructions

  1. 1 Boil beef bones with onion, garlic, and spices in water for thirty minutes to create a rich broth.
  2. 2 Add peeled green bananas and cook for twenty more minutes until very soft.
  3. 3 Remove bones, blend the soup until smooth, and return to pot.
  4. 4 Adjust consistency with more broth if needed, season with salt, pepper, and lime juice.
  5. 5 Simmer for five more minutes to let flavors meld.
  6. 6 Serve hot with a squeeze of lime and crusty bread or chapati.
