    Drain soaked fava beans and place in a food processor. Pulse until coarsely ground but not turned into a smooth paste.

    Add onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, and salt. Pulse until combined with some texture remaining.

    Rest the mixture in the refrigerator for thirty minutes. This helps it firm up for easier shaping into patties.

    Shape into small round patties and press each side into sesame seeds for a crunchy coating on the exterior.

    Deep fry in oil heated to 180C for three minutes per side until deeply golden brown and cooked through.
