Ingredients

  • 200g smoked beef, thinly sliced
  • 200g aged Tolminc cheese, sliced
  • 150g mixed pickled vegetables (turnips, cucumbers, peppers)
  • Fresh horseradish root, grated
  • 100g cottage cheese
  • Buckwheat or rye bread, sliced
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs, halved
  • Butter curls
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1 Arrange sliced smoked beef on one section of a large wooden board or platter.
  2. 2 Place cheese slices alongside, alternating varieties if available.
  3. 3 Mound pickled vegetables in small bowls or directly on the board.
  4. 4 Grate fresh horseradish and place in a small dish. Add a mound of cottage cheese.
  5. 5 Fan out bread slices and arrange hard-boiled egg halves around the board.
  6. 6 Garnish with fresh herbs and butter curls. Serve as a shared appetizer.
