Crispy golden potato pancakes made from grated raw potatoes, garlic, and marjoram, pan-fried until shatteringly crisp outside and soft within.

Ingredients

  • 800g potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp flour or cornstarch
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • Salt and pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1 Grate potatoes coarsely, squeeze out excess moisture in a cloth.
  2. 2 Mix with garlic, egg, flour, marjoram, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3 Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. 4 Spoon mixture into the pan, flatten into thin rounds.
  5. 5 Fry 3-4 minutes per side until deeply golden and crispy.
  6. 6 Drain on paper towels and serve hot with sour cream.
