The Story Behind Golden Apple Juice
Golden apple juice is one of the most beloved traditional fruit drinks of Saint Lucia. The golden apple tree, originally from Southeast Asia, thrived in Caribbean soil and became naturalized across the island. The tangy, slightly astringent fruit makes a refreshingly tart juice that is a natural thirst quencher in the tropical heat. Street vendors throughout Castries and Soufriere sell freshly blended golden apple juice as an alternative to imported sodas.
