Taro Leaf and Coconut Stew

Young taro leaves simmered with coconut milk and onion. A nutritious Palauan green dish.

Ingredients

  • 400g taro leaves, washed
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 lime, juiced

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash and chop taro leaves.
  2. 2 Saute onion and garlic in oil.
  3. 3 Add taro leaves and stir.
  4. 4 Pour in coconut milk and water.
  5. 5 Simmer 25 minutes until tender.
  6. 6 Season with salt and lime.
