Fire-Roasted Whole Breadfruit

Whole breadfruit roasted over coals until charred outside and fluffy inside. Sliced and served with coconut cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe breadfruit
  • 1/2 cup coconut cream
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • Banana leaf for serving
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 green onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. 1 Place whole breadfruit directly on hot coals.
  2. 2 Roast, turning occasionally, for 30-40 minutes.
  3. 3 Breadfruit is done when skin is charred and flesh is soft.
  4. 4 Remove from fire and peel off charred skin.
  5. 5 Slice into wedges.
  6. 6 Serve with coconut cream, butter, and salt.
