Ingredients

  • 400g stale white bread, torn into pieces
  • 500ml whole milk
  • 50g butter
  • 100g feta or young white cheese, crumbled
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat milk in a saucepan until just simmering.
  2. 2 Add torn bread pieces and stir until bread absorbs the milk and softens.
  3. 3 Add butter in pieces, stir until melted and incorporated.
  4. 4 Continue stirring over low heat until the mixture becomes thick and porridge-like.
  5. 5 Transfer to a serving bowl and top with crumbled cheese.
  6. 6 Serve immediately while hot and steaming.
