Simple yet deeply satisfying combination of crumbly fresh sheep cheese mixed with thick sour cream, served as a side dish or topping for mamaliga.

Ingredients

  • 300g fresh brânză (sheep cheese)
  • 200ml thick sour cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh dill, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1 Crumble the fresh brânză into a mixing bowl using a fork, breaking it into small curds.
  2. 2 Add thick sour cream and mix gently until combined but still retaining some texture. Do not over-mix into a paste.
  3. 3 Season with salt to taste. The cheese may already be salty, so taste before adding more.
  4. 4 Transfer to a serving bowl. Optionally garnish with chopped fresh dill. Serve alongside warm mamaliga.
