Fried Whole Shrimp

Crispy Fried Island Shrimp

Fresh shrimp lightly battered and fried whole until crispy. Served with soy-lime dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500g whole shrimp, cleaned
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. 1 Clean shrimp, leaving tails on.
  2. 2 Mix cornstarch, flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3 Toss shrimp in coating mixture.
  4. 4 Heat oil to 180C.
  5. 5 Fry shrimp 2-3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  6. 6 Mix soy sauce, lime juice, and sugar for dipping.
