Boiled Green Bananas

Green cooking bananas boiled until tender. A simple starchy side served with fish or meat.

Ingredients

  • 6 green cooking bananas
  • Water to cover
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Lime juice
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • Fresh coconut for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1 Peel green bananas and cut in half.
  2. 2 Place in pot and cover with salted water.
  3. 3 Bring to boil and cook 15-20 minutes until tender.
  4. 4 Drain and toss with butter and coconut oil.
  5. 5 Squeeze lime juice over bananas.
  6. 6 Serve warm alongside fish or stew.
