Instructions

    Peel ripe breadfruit, remove core, and cut into chunks.

    Boil breadfruit until very soft, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash until smooth.

Using the ripest, sweetest breadfruit of the season, this pudding was traditionally prepared for first-birthday celebrations (kemem) and other important gatherings. The banana-leaf wrapping technique has been unchanged for centuries.
