1 medium breadfruit, peeled and cubed

1 cup grated fresh coconut

50g Maldive fish, shredded

1 small onion, finely diced

1 green chili, minced

6 curry leaves, chopped

Juice of 2 limes

Salt to taste

Boil breadfruit cubes in salted water until tender, about fifteen minutes. Drain well.

Mash the breadfruit roughly with a fork. It should be chunky, not smooth like a puree.

Add grated coconut, shredded Maldive fish, onion, chili, and curry leaves to the mashed breadfruit.

Squeeze lime juice over the mixture and add salt to taste.

Mix everything together by hand, squeezing and pressing to combine flavors throughout.

Serve immediately with warm roshi. This is traditionally the first meal of the day on many islands.
