Whole Grain Maize Porridge

Porridge made from unrefined whole grain maize flour, darker and more nutritious than regular phala.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mgaiwa (whole maize flour)
  • 4 cups water
  • Sugar or salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Mix mgaiwa flour with cold water to make slurry.
  2. 2 Bring remaining water to boil.
  3. 3 Pour slurry in, stirring constantly.
  4. 4 Cook 15 minutes until thickened.
  5. 5 Serve with sugar or salt.
