Ingredients

  • 500g gjizë (fresh curd cheese) or ricotta
  • 4 eggs
  • 50g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1 In a bowl, mix the gjizë with eggs, melted butter, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. 2 Pour into a greased clay baking dish.
  3. 3 Bake at 180°C for twenty-five to thirty minutes until puffed up and golden on top.
  4. 4 The center should be just set with a slight wobble.
  5. 5 Let rest for five minutes — it will deflate slightly, which is normal.
  6. 6 Serve warm directly from the baking dish.
