A creamy, refreshing tropical drink made from fresh soursop fruit blended with milk, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg. Haiti's most popular homemade beverage.
Ingredients
1 large soursop fruit, peeled and seeded
500ml whole milk
100g sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
500ml cold water
Ice cubes for serving
Instructions
1Remove the skin and seeds from the soursop. The flesh should be white and creamy.
2Add soursop flesh, milk, water, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg to a blender.
3Blend on high for one minute until completely smooth and creamy.
4Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove any fibrous bits. Press with a spoon to extract all liquid.
5Taste and adjust sweetness. Refrigerate until very cold.
6Serve over ice in tall glasses with a dusting of nutmeg on top.
