A creamy, refreshing tropical drink made from fresh soursop fruit blended with milk, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg. Haiti's most popular homemade beverage.

Ingredients

  • 1 large soursop fruit, peeled and seeded
  • 500ml whole milk
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 500ml cold water
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. 1 Remove the skin and seeds from the soursop. The flesh should be white and creamy.
  2. 2 Add soursop flesh, milk, water, sugar, vanilla, and nutmeg to a blender.
  3. 3 Blend on high for one minute until completely smooth and creamy.
  4. 4 Strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove any fibrous bits. Press with a spoon to extract all liquid.
