Bring water and salt to a rolling boil.

Gradually sprinkle in cornmeal while stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon.

Reduce heat to low and continue stirring for 15-20 minutes.

The mixture should become very thick, smooth, and pull away from the pot sides.

Wet a bowl, scoop tô into it, and press to form a smooth dome. Serve with sauce.
