Stir-fried egg noodles tossed with chicken, shrimp, cabbage, carrots, and snap peas in a savory soy-oyster sauce ā the celebratory noodle dish served at every Filipino birthday party.
Ingredients
250g canton egg noodles
200g chicken breast, sliced thin
150g shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cups cabbage, shredded
1 carrot, julienned
1 cup snap peas
1 onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 cup chicken broth
2 tbsp cooking oil
Calamansi halves
Fried garlic
Instructions
1Soak canton noodles in warm water for 5 minutes until pliable. Drain.
2Heat oil in a wok over high heat. Stir-fry chicken until cooked, about 3 minutes. Add shrimp, cook 2 minutes. Set aside.
4Add noodles, pour soy sauce, oyster sauce, and chicken broth over them. Toss continuously.
5Return chicken and shrimp. Toss everything together until noodles absorb the sauce, about 3 minutes.
6Serve topped with fried garlic and calamansi halves for squeezing.
