Ingredients

  • 8 hard-boiled eggs
  • 100g butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Fresh dill or chives, chopped
  • Dark rye bread for serving

Instructions

  1. 1 Boil eggs for 10 min, cool in ice water, and peel.
  2. 2 Chop eggs roughly, then mash with a fork — keep some texture.
  3. 3 Mix mashed eggs with softened butter until well combined.
  4. 4 Season with salt and fold in chopped herbs.
  5. 5 Pack into a small bowl or ramekin and refrigerate until firm.
  6. 6 Serve spread generously on dark rye bread.
