Did You Know?
On King's Day (April 27), every bakery in the Netherlands sells tompouces with orange icing instead of the traditional pink.
The Story Behind Tompouce
The tompouce became one of the Netherlands' most iconic pastries after its introduction in the 19th century. Its association with King's Day, when the icing turns orange to match the royal House of Orange, cemented it as a national symbol.
