Passion Fruit Juice

Prep Time 10 min
Servings 4
Difficulty Easy

A refreshing tropical juice made from fresh passion fruit pulp blended with water, sugar, and ice, capturing the intense sweet-tart flavor of Dominican chinola.

Ingredients

  • 10 ripe passion fruits (chinola)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 6 tbsp sugar or to taste
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1 Cut passion fruits in half and scoop pulp and seeds into a blender. You should have about one and a half cups of pulp.
  2. 2 Add cold water and sugar to the blender. Pulse briefly, just enough to separate seeds from pulp without crushing them.
  3. 3 Strain through a fine mesh strainer, pressing pulp with a spoon to extract maximum juice. Discard seeds.
  4. 4 Taste and adjust sweetness. Chinola is naturally tart, so add more sugar if desired.
  5. 5 Add crushed ice to the pitcher and stir. Pour into tall glasses.
  6. 6 Serve immediately while cold and fresh. The vibrant orange color should be clear and bright.
