The Story Behind Blitva s Krumpirom
Blitva s krumpirom is arguably the most ubiquitous side dish in Dalmatian cuisine, served alongside grilled fish, meat, or eaten on its own with bread. The dish embodies the Dalmatian cooking philosophy of simplicity and quality ingredients. Swiss chard grows abundantly in the Mediterranean climate, and every family garden has rows of it. The generous use of olive oil and garlic elevates these humble ingredients.
