A refreshing, tangy drink made from crushed lulo fruit, lime, and sugar, served ice-cold with chunks of fruit — Cali's signature refreshment.
Ingredients

8 ripe lulo fruits (or substitute tomatillos + lime)

1 cup sugar

4 cups cold water

Juice of 2 limes

Crushed ice

Fresh mint (optional)
Instructions

Cut lulo fruits in half, scoop out pulp with seeds.

Mash half the pulp roughly with a fork — do not blend smooth, chunks are essential.

Blend the other half with water and sugar until smooth. Strain if desired.

Combine blended mixture with mashed pulp and lime juice.

Serve in tall glasses over crushed ice. Garnish with mint if desired.
