Sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf and steamed, filled with chicken, Chinese sausage, mushrooms, and salted egg yolk. The lotus leaf imparts a subtle earthy fragrance.

Ingredients

  • 400g glutinous rice soaked overnight
  • 200g chicken thigh diced
  • 2 Chinese sausages diced
  • 4 dried shiitake mushrooms soaked and diced
  • 2 salted egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Dried lotus leaves soaked

Instructions

  1. 1 Par-cook the soaked glutinous rice by steaming for twenty minutes.
  2. 2 Stir-fry chicken, sausage, and mushrooms with oyster sauce and soy sauce.
  3. 3 Place a portion of rice on a softened lotus leaf, add filling and egg yolk.
  4. 4 Wrap tightly into a parcel and secure.
  5. 5 Steam the parcels for thirty minutes until fully cooked and fragrant.
