The Story Behind Completo
The completo was born in 1920s Santiago, inspired by American hot dogs but transformed into something uniquely Chilean. The "completo italiano" (with avocado, tomato, and mayo, resembling the Italian flag) became the standard. Chile now consumes more hot dogs per capita than any Latin American country.
