Puffy, golden fried dough balls with a crispy exterior and airy interior, served warm with kajmak or jam.

Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 7g instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 250ml warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1 Mix flour, yeast, salt, sugar. Add warm milk and egg, mix into a soft dough.
  2. 2 Knead briefly. Cover and rest 45 min until risen.
  3. 3 Heat oil to 180C in a deep pot.
  4. 4 Tear off walnut-sized pieces, stretch slightly, and drop into hot oil.
  5. 5 Fry 2-3 min per side until puffed and golden.
  6. 6 Drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with kajmak, cheese, or jam.
