Fried Stuffed Tortillas

Crescent-shaped corn tortillas stuffed with seasoned fish or beans, then deep-fried until golden and crispy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups masa harina
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 lb white fish fillet
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp red recado paste
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Flake the cooked fish and season with recado, garlic, onion, vinegar, and salt.
  2. 2 Mix masa harina with warm water and salt to form soft dough.
  3. 3 Flatten dough rounds, add fish filling, fold into crescents and seal edges.
  4. 4 Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown. Serve with pickled onions and habanero sauce.
